Established in 1990, Offbeat Riding Safaris is one of Kenya’s most established and respected horseback safari operators, offering adventurous rides through some of the country’s finest wildlife areas.

Safaris take place in the Masai Mara, Laikipia and Amboseli, with routes selected to make the most of the season, wildlife and riding conditions. The Masai Mara is particularly spectacular, with the opportunity to cover long distances on horseback through an area rich in lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and abundant plains game. Laikipia offers a different experience, with diverse wildlife and the chance to see rare species including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx and gerenuk.

Set Departure Rides – Seven-night mobile riding safaris in the Mara and Laikipia, accommodating up to 12 experienced riders.

Lodge-to-Lodge Rides – Tailor-made rides combining excellent horseback experiences with more luxurious lodge accommodation.

Tailor-Made Rides – Private mobile riding safaris of five nights or more, designed around the group’s interests and riding ability.

The traditional mobile camps move with the safari, allowing guests to explore remote areas and experience Kenya as a true wilderness adventure.

The Offbeat team brings extensive knowledge of horses, wildlife and the Kenyan bush. Experienced riding guides are supported by local Maasai spotters, whose intimate knowledge of the landscape and wildlife adds another dimension to the safari.
