In the foothills of the mist-shrouded Virunga Massif nestles beautiful Sabyinyo – a  quietly luxurious community-owned lodge.

Accommodation at Sabyinyo comprises six charming stone cottages, two suites with king-size four-poster beds and one spacious family unit with two separate bedrooms. Each cottage features large sitting areas, fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms and a sheltered veranda with views over the volcanoes.

The main area houses the lounge, bar and dining sections with cozy fireplaces. 

In-room massages are available.

Activities include gorilla trekking, Golden Monkey trekking, birding, guided cultural walks and community visits.

Other activities include  a trip to twin lakes - Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo; and the lakeside resort of Gisenyi at Lake Kivu.

Children: all ages welcome but no under 15 on gorilla treks, and no under 12 on Golden Monkey treks.
