CAPE TOWN

Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

Dating back to 1696, the estate is one of the Cape’s oldest wine farms and a recognised National Monument. Today, it offers an experience rooted in slow travel, nature, wine and contemporary farm hospitality. The estate forms part of the renowned Stellenbosch wine route and is located between the Helderberg Mountains and False Bay, near Stellenbosch.

The name Vergenoegd, Dutch for “to be content”, reflects a place where agriculture, hospitality, and heritage have remained connected for more than three centuries.

Accommodation is in 16 rooms ranging from Vineyard Suites (4) and Deluxe Lodge Rooms (4) to expansive Luxury Cottages (6 x two-bedroomed) with private pools, as well as the exclusive Presidential Suite (2 bedroomed) and the Owner’s Villa (six- bedroomed).

The estate also features a luxury spa and wellness sanctuary, wine tasting experiences, seasonal dining at 3 venues - Geuwels, The Homestead and Clara’s Barn; and immersive farm activities (free-roaming livestock) and landscaped gardens with 5km of walking routes across the estate. There are meeting facilities for up to 40 guests and a function venue for up to 80 guests.

Other highlights are the daily Duck Runs at 09:00 and 12:00 (a flock of Indian Runner ducks, which form part of the sustainable farming practices for pest control), a herb and vegetable garden, a puzzle maze,  Dylan Lewis sculptures, a labyrinth, mini Stonehenge and children’s playground.
