SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

Tafika is on the east bank of the Luangwa River, north of the Nsefu Sector in a remote section of the park.  The camp has access to 3 diverse habitats being the Luangwa riverside, Mutanda plains and the salt pans, and exclusive access to a busy Yellow-billed Stork colony in May.

The salt pan is a serval hotspot (all season) & crowned crane hotspot (from August).

The camp has six rustic reed and thatch chalets, 4 double/twin, one family and one king honeymoon chalet. The main unit houses an open bar, lounge and dining area - much of the latter is under the trees or stars. The cuisine is a highlight here - with an impressive produce garden and bush kitchen.

The camp has several photographic hides.

Activities include game drives (4 guests per vehicle), walking safaris and visits to the local Mkasanga Village.

Children: no under 8

Open: 1 May - 10 November
