KAYILA CAMP

This Natural Selection camp is the only lodge inside the Skeleton Coast National Park, 45km north of Mowe Bay, on the mouth of the Hoarusib River.

The main area is styled to look like a stranded shipwreck built from wood and glass to resemble the metal ribs of a wrecked vessel. It houses a cosy lounge with fireplace and dining sections, there is also a large outdoor deck overlooking the sand dunes and sea.

There are 10 cabins (8 twins and 2 family with 2 rollaway beds) that have been uniquely styled to look like the shipwrecks that dot the coast. All have standing fans and are ensuite (with indoor showers) and have wood burning stoves to ward off the coastal chill.

Activities include sandboarding, quad biking, nature drives and walks, day excursions to the Mowe Bay seal colony, including stops at the Suiderkus and Karimona shipwrecks, Westies diamond mine, and the remains of the Ventura Bomber.

Children: all ages welcome

Open: year round
