Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

This camp is in the open plains of the Lamai Wedge in northern Serengeti, just a kilometre from the Mara River, opposite Crossing Point 4, midway among all crossing points along the river.

Founded by Alex Walker, the name Serian primarily originates from the Maasai language, where it means "peaceful, calm, or serene".

There are 8 comfortable double ensuite tents and 2 family units – all with plumbed showers and flushing toilets. There are 2 mess tents set among Acacias housing the lounge and dining areas.

Activities include game drives and bush walks; and fly camping (at an extra cost).

Children: all ages welcome

Open: 1 June – 31 March
