This camp, in the Foxes Safari Camps’ collection of properties, is on a bank several metres above the Rufiji River at the eastern end of the reserve’s photographic area; a short distance from Mtemere airstrip.

The large central area is under that with stone floors, and houses the lounge and small library, bar and dining sections; there’s a second floor with views over the river. There are outdoor seating areas, an open firepit and a shaded swimming pool.

The 14 tented ensuite rooms spread along the river bank on raised wooden platforms under an A-frame thatched roof with a spacious veranda overlooking the river. Three of the rooms are family units with two large tents on a shared wooden deck, complete with a plunge pool and open-air living spaces.

Activities include game drives, bush walks and boat cruises on the Rufiji River.

Children: all ages welcome, no under 12 on walking safaris
