HWANGE NATIONAL PARK

Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

Established in the early days of safari tourism, the camp takes its name from Herbert George Robins, an early conservation pioneer who donated his land to what would later become part of Hwange National Park.

Robins is in the northern basalt area of the park, an area rich in natural water with seeps and springs and open grasslands with small kopjes (hills). The camp has been upgraded in recent years and runs in partnership with Machaba Safaris.

There are 16 Acacia thatched standard chalets and 2 triple chalets; and 18 Mopane standard chalets under a chromadek roof. There are 25 campsites for the more adventurous travellers.

The main area houses the lounge and restaurant. There is a pool set in green lawns and a fire pit.

Activities include game drives and walking safaris (the latter booked in advance).

Children: all ages welcome (no under 16 on walks)

Open: year round
