KAYILA CAMP
Ongava is a 30,000-hectare (74,000-acre) private game reserve along the southern border of Etosha National Park. The name means "rhino" in the local Herero language, and it was once unproductive farmland; the land has been restored into a thriving wildlife area known for its successful black and white rhino conservation.
The lodge is set on a hill with views over the camp’s waterhole from the main lounge and dining areas. There is a pool and wellness deck for spa treatments, and a photographic hide.
The Ongava Information System and Visitor Centre is a self-guided exhibition area filled with displays on the geology, animals, plants and ecology of the reserve.
There are 14 rock-and-thatch en-suite chalets including a 2 bedroomed family chalet.
Activities include game drives and walks on Ongava and drives into Etosha.
Children: no under 6
Open: year round
