Mukwa River Lodge, a luxurious family-owned retreat, is set along the banks of the Zambezi River 20 minutes upstream from the Victoria Falls. It is the epitome of bush chic with a focus on the fine details of an elegant residence.

The main complex houses the bar, lounge and dining areas, a large lap pool, a river deck for outside dining as well as a boma. There is a gym and spa treatment room, extensive gardens and a large organic vegetable garden with chickens. The grounds also have a helicopter landing pad.

There are seven river and island suites with private plunge pools, extensive decks and loungers. Mukwa Garden Cottage is a two-bedroomed unit and Mukwa House is a three-bedroomed unit - both with a butler kitchen and the option of private dining, a fireplace, plunge pool and deck. The 2 cottages are ideal for families with younger children.

On site activities include river cruises, a culinary journey for a hands-on experience in local cuisine followed by private dining; organic garden tours and curated Livingstone town and museum cultural excursions. Visits to the Falls and all the adventure activities are easily arranged.

Children: no under 7 in the suites, Mukwa Cottage and House welcomes children of all ages
