KAYILA CAMP

Motse is Tswalu’s original camp and is built like a traditional village with nine 'legae' (the Setswana word for ‘home’) set between indigenous trees and shrubs, these spacious, private garden suites are built from local stone and thatch. All units have a sitting area with a wood-burning stove, a study area, and a private, shaded veranda with a large day bed. 3 of the suites are family units – two bedrooms linked by a living room. Each with indoor and outdoor showers and a freestanding bath (no bath in the children’s bedrooms).

The main camp’s communal guest area comprises a series of spaces for relaxing and dining indoors and outdoors. Covered verandas lead to two swimming pools and a fire pit for sundowners. The main lounge has a stone fireplace, mezzanine library and walk-in wine cellar, and there is a boma for barbecue dinners under the stars. The Tswalu Spa is situated at Motse, along with a gym, photographic studio and the Gallery - a boutique stocked with art, jewellery, clothing and souvenirs. In addition to dining at Motse, guests staying for two nights or more are invited to enjoy the Boscia House Pop-up, an exclusive, gourmet dining experience.

For a secluded night out - Malori, meaning ‘dreamer’ in Setswana, is Tswalu’s under-canvas experience overlooking the rolling dunes and the vast veld stretching to the horizon. It is a classic safari tent, with twin beds, elevated above the dunes with an outdoor bathroom - under the stars.

Activities include game drives, bush walks, meerkat experiences and horse riding.
