Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

The first lodge in The Lands portfolio, Moela is set on the cliffs overlooking the Boteti River in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The camp is in the private 700-hectare Ngande Private Reserve – a community owned concession.

The lodge is an elegant safari style blended with traditional African architecture and design and was constructed by skilled Batswana craftspeople and artisans from our partner community from the Khumaga Village. The main lodge includes an open plan lounge and dining area, with a library and swimming pool with daybeds. There are also two wildlife viewing decks in camp – the ‘nest’ and the ‘riverbed’.

There are eight ensuite tented suites, including two family units – each with private decks.

Activities include game drives, and depending on the water level, boat cruises, and walks with the San Bushmen. For longer stays, cultural excursions as well as day trips to Nxai pan and Baines Baobabs and a sleep out under the stars on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in the winter months. Scenic helicopter flights can be arranged to take in the area from the air.  The area experiences an amazing zebra and wildebeest migration from January through April.
