MAKGADIKGADI PANS & THE KALAHARI

Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

A Desert & Delta property, Leroo La Tau translates as ‘lion’s paw’, and the camp is built on cliffs 10 metres above the western bank of the Boteti River, which forms the boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.

The main lounge and dining area is under thatch, and the camp has a firepit and pool as well as a game-viewing hide built into the bank of the river. The various indoor and outdoor seating areas and bar are connected by expansive wooden decking.

There are twelve thatched and glass-fronted rooms, each raised on a wooden platform overlooking the Boteti River Valley below.

Activities include game drives, and depending on the water level, boat cruises. For longer stays, cultural excursions to Khumaga Village as well as day trips to Nxai pan and Baines Baobabs and a sleep out under the stars on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in the winter months. Scenic helicopter flights can be arranged to take in the area from the air.
