KAYILA CAMP

This secluded Laba Laba camp is tucked away in a remote corner of the park, under a grove of shady trees, on the banks of the seasonal Jongomero River.

Blending in with its surroundings, the main area houses the camp bar, lounge and restaurant with an open wooden terrace; shaded by a high thatched roof with comfortable sofas and furniture made of reclaimed dhow wood. There is a pool and open-air river-view gym.

Accommodation is in eight large and well-appointed tented suites, built on raised wooden platforms, under thatched roofs that also encompass a spacious private deck which overlooks the dry riverbed.

The Bush Manor is an exclusive-use 2 bedroom villa with ornately carved wooden doors leading to the lounge and dining space and open-plan kitchen bar. The high thatched main area is set between the two inter-connecting tented suites. For larger parties, two additional tented suites are located 15 meters from the Bush Manor.  There is an infinity lap pool with shaded seating and sun loungers.

The thermal bush spa is 35 minutes from camp for treatments, massages and bathing in natural pools of volcanic hot springs water.

Activities include game drives and bush walks.

Children: no under 6

Open: June to March
