KAYILA CAMP
Set high above the Sand River, along a ridge on the site of the original camp created in the early 1920s, the classic fresh homestead style is a reminder of the early-safari era. The camp is in the Tengile Game Reserve within the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve – with 10,500-hectares (26,000-acres) of traverse area.
The camp is named after Harry Kirkman, one of the founders of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve who transitioned from farmer to hunter to conservationist and became a ranger in the Kruger National Park in 1933.
There are ten guest cottages and one family cottage – each with private verandahs and plunge pools.
The main lodge has indoor and outdoor dining, several seating areas, a pool and spa; there is also a tennis court and croquet on the lawns.
Activities include game drives and seasonal bush walks.
Children: all ages welcome
Open: year round
