KAYILA CAMP
This understated Nomad bush camp overlooks the dry river bed of the Ifuguru River in the eastern sector of the park.
Grass pathways lead to an open-sided central mess area under thatch which houses a small lounge and dining area, though meals are mostly taken ‘al fresco’ around the camp fire.
There are just six airy tents set beneath the boughs of Sausage Trees (Kigelia Africana) after which the camp was named. The tents are furnished with locally crafted pale wood furniture and there's a hot safari-style bucket shower and a flush loo. Each tent has a private star bed to enjoy a night under the open sky. One of the tents is the family tent which has two adjoining en-suite bedrooms under one thatch roof.
Activities include game drives and bush walks.
Children: no under 8
Open: June to January
