MAKGADIKGADI PANS & THE KALAHARI

Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

In the Natural Selections portfolio, Jack’s Camp is an opulent, luxurious desert stay on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

The main area is a sophisticated mix of vintage style furniture and the adventurous spirit of exploration. The green canvas and muslin-draped walls are embellished with Persian and North African rugs, paraffin lamps, brass fittings, luxuriant textiles and mahogany campaign furniture.

There are natural history museum cabinets curated by Ralph Bousfield, a Persian tea tent and a pool pavilion. Spa treatments are easily arranged.

There are nine ensuite guest tents, and each is 270 square metres in size. The interiors are filled with rich textiles, antiques, Persian rugs and hand-carved beds. Each has expansive decking with a private plunge pool and views of the pans.

Activities include game drives, walks with the bushmen, quad biking, horse riding, meerkat experiences and a sleep out under the stars on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in the winter months; and the area experiences an amazing zebra and wildebeest migration from January through April. Scenic helicopter flights can be arranged to take in the area from the air.
