NGORONGORO CRATER & KARATU

Heading 1

KAYILA CAMP

This entirely organic farm consisting of 30 acres of coffee, 10 acres of vegetables and fruit, 5 acres of flowers and herbs and a working dairy and pig farm is on the main safari route from Arusha to Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Lake Eyasi national parks, before heading north to the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti.

The farm was established in the early 1900s by a German Duke as a coffee plantation; James and Margaret Gibb bought the farm after World War II and started the guesthouse in the 1970s – the sense of history prevails.

There are seventeen 1-bedroom farm cottages – with either twin queen or king-sized beds and outdoor showers.; and  two farm houses, Bustani and Deutsches, with 2 ensuite bedrooms, private lounge areas and outdoor showers.

On site activities include farm and garden tours and cycling. Other activities include game drives into the crater  and Lake Manyara, escorted forest walks and cultural excursions.

Children: all ages welcome

Open: year round
