KAYILA CAMP
Chisa is the Nyanja word for ‘bird's nest’, and the rooms were inspired by the weaver birds that nest in the trees here. Sitting on a small tree-lined island, overlooking the plains the camp uses only solar power as do the game drive vehicles.
The five Nests are built four metres off the ground and shaded by terminalia trees. They have private outdoor decks and indoor/outdoor shower, the rooms are accessed by wooden steps (one has a lift) and lined in canvas tenting and fitted with a modern en-suite bathroom.
The central area houses a tented lounge, bar and dining section and has a plunge pool.
Activities include game drives, walking and e-biking safaris.
Children: no under 9
Minimum age for walking and electric bike safaris is 15.
Open: 1 May - 14 November
