KAYILA CAMP
Also known as 'the lodge on the rocks', this family run camp sits on an enormous granite whaleback with sweeping views across the national park.
The main area includes a natural rock-pool and sundeck, the Leopard's Lair lounge and bar and a cave-style boma for pre-dinner drinks.
There are eight thatched A-frame en-suite thatched cottages, each with a small balcony. One of these is a family room and two are suite with a lounge area.
For the self-sufficient there is a camp site and also the option to overnight in an authentic Ndebele Village hut.
Activities here include game drives in the very scenic national park, mountain biking, tracking, rhino by vehicle or on foot, exploring the many historic sites of ancient nomadic San Bushman cave paintings and visiting the tomb of Cecil John Rhodes high in the granite hills.
Children: all ages welcome
Open: year round
