| Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp overlooks a floodplain in South Luangwa National Park. This remote game park is one of Zambia’s best areas for game viewing, home to 60 mammals and over 400 bird species, making it one of the top birding destinations in the world. The camp overlooks a wide floodplain where the eponymous puku antelope congregate in large numbers, whistling to each other when danger threatens. The camp itself is a classic tented camp, with a large living area overlooking the plains where guests can spend a quiet afternoon in between exciting game experiences. The central dining area produces gourmet meals that will leave visitors astonished that such delicacies can be served so far away from a city or even a road. The camp is designed to leave the lowest possible carbon footprint. We also actively support anti-poaching and conservation initiatives by the South Luangwa Conservation Society (SLCS). ACCOMODATION Each of the seven safari tents at Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp is oversized and comfortable with its own viewing deck overlooking the floodplains. Animals can easily be seen without leaving the comfort of this private deck as they make their way across the plains to water. Every tent has its own hot tub and outside shower shaded by forest at the back of each bathroom. Guests can watch the sun rise from big double beds as they contemplate what they might like to do that day. |
