Lake Kariba

Kariba Sunset

Lake Kariba, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world, was formed in the late 1950s when the mighty Zambezi river was dammed on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border as part of a hydro-electric project.

"Operation Noah" saw large populations of animals relocated, many of them into Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe.  The Lake now presents excellent recreational opportunities, including fishing and boat cruises, as well as game viewing in the national park.

ZAMAG Tours and Safaris have selected a number of luxury lodges and places to stay in the area, as well as the famous Southern Belle which allows you to stay on the Lake itself!

We carefully select every place that you'll stay, chosen for a memorable experience. Whether on safari in the bush or visiting agribusiness enterprises, you're looked after by experts who know their subjects.
